lots of memories of the monsters Godzilla battled over the years. Fun to watch!

4 out of 5. But I say it as a fan. It is a lot like Pacific Rim. In that the lead is bland, the story isn't super deep but the kaiju stuff is awesome.For a non fan a 3 star rating.The movie is also kinda like an mcu film in that there are a lot of references a fan will catch.Also feels like this movie exists because of the MCU. The organization Monarch is bluntly SHIELD.

It was a good movie for this genre. The special effects were a definite upgrade on the classic.

As a long time Godzilla fan I found this movie to be an absolute joy. This movie was a thrill throughout with all the giant monster action you could want without neglecting many other aspects of the film. The movie is packed with references to the older Godzilla movies, particularly Showa era, but aren’t vital to understanding the movie or scenes they are in. An absolute must for any kaiju fan!
