Both Judi Dench and Ali Fazal were wonderful. The only negative was determining the passage of time. What was the time span of the plot?

Judi Dench gives a tour de force performance that is Oscar worthy. Ali Fazal is a new star on the horizon. The story, which occurred at the end of the 19th century, is very timely today and illustrates that we have not come very far in intolerance and understanding, especially with our current administration. This is a quiet film with no special effects or showy spectacle, so I hope audiences find it. Good film for school field trips.... it has a lot to say. I hope it gets notice during the awards season.

This movie was amazing. I did not like how it seemed rushed but over all it was still an amazing story over all.

It put a human face on the Empress of India. As a person of South Asian descent, it made us see the inner workings of the House of Windsor and ts politics. Would never have known about Abdul, were it not for this movie.
