The movie started off a little slow, I enjoyed the film. Jim Broadbent's performance was understated but excellent. Liked several of the 1960's England flashback scenes. Would've liked more background & development of other characters, but this was probably a choice to show everything from Broadbent's character's insular view of himself and surroundings. Overall good quiet film.

The acting is topnotch, and the story intriguing throughout, but there were some problems with the way the information was revealed that confused me a few times. I suppose channeling everything through Tony (were there any scenes in which he did not appear?) was an artistic choice, but it did not always work. Nevertheless, seeing the film made me want to read the novel on which it was based.

It was entertaining

It was interesting to watch but I wouldn't pay to see it, I'm too frustrated by ambiguous endings.
