As someone who loved Godzilla 2014 and King of the Monsters I was REALLY happy with what I saw out of Godzilla vs Kong. I do wish Brear McReary did the music as I thought it was a bit lackluster, and I did think the monsters were...less threatening this go around. Still, I found the Hollow Earth subplot super interesting and the action, albeit not as good as KotM, was still very solid and fun.

The graphics and fight scenes were really cool. I also loved the scenery of Kong’s home and the monsters they fought. I just have never seen any King along or Godzilla movies, so I was pretty confused about the plot while watching it. But I think that someone who knows a lot about these movies would enjoy this one! I also really loved the diversity in the actors!

Why must monster movies be ruined by so much human drama. Like we’re here to see them fight. Not learn about the delicate balance of friendships and families. Lol. Cut back on the juman story and more time for action pls. Backstory on the monster breeding project would be better time spent.

I’d recommend it only to fans of the genre. The visual effects were excellent, and the monster battles were fun. However, the narrative was almost non existent, and there was no character development.
