WONDERFUL and very relatable movie. Lotsof dialogue but it never got old or became boring. Very good !

The acting was great but it was too slow and long

Denzel Washington produced it and brought it to the screen, and the film is all Denzel. Maybe just a little bit too much Denzel. He gave an outstanding performance, but Viola Davis is no slouch. She gave a rich, moving performance as Rose, but she needed more lines. Father and son scenes were wrenching, downright brutal. Give us ten minutes more between mother and son after the death.
