great rendition of a true story - the film was nuanced - enjoyed the back and forth discovery during trial - really shows that life is messy and character matters - would highly recommend the movie

This fabulous movie has courtroom drama, friendships, social commentary, racism & historical issues that are gracefully discussed and laugh out loud moments too. I love the relationship between Willie & his wife but found it odd that none of Jeramiah’s 13 children were ever heard from. Mamoudou Athie isn’t given enough credit!!! What a fabulous actor & his character made the whole thing happen! The only real stand out downside to this film is seeing the lav mic twice on Jamie Foxx’s tie in two scenes. Overall, I will definitely recommend this film and plan to watch it again.

I really loved this movie. It was a great mix of comedy and drama. I would actually like to see this movie again.
