The pacing and intensity kept me engaged even though I'm old enough to remember when the kidnapping happened. The brutality of cutting off an ear was dealt with appropriately. I feel the R rating is appropriate.

Christopher Plummer did an amazing performance. There was some humour thrown in and delves into the mindset of how such a wealthy person can be so callous and frugal.

Strong acting from Christopher Plummer and Michelle Williams... everyone else, not so much. Although part of the film location and all, color hues were a little to dark. Great costuming! Decent writing. Overall good film.
