The Northman should have used more of its budget for hiring scriptwriters that could add nuanced character development to the quite tired plot of Hamlet. Without a compelling reason to root for the protagonist, his over two hour odyssey becomes quickly predictable. Tighten up that script!

I was really looking forward to this movie as the preview seemed interesting, but the preview was a little misleading. The movie was slow, the magic was difficult to understand and the dialogue was difficult to understand. While there were a couple of nice twist in the end overall it was boring.

Considering the good actors in the movie I was surprised how awful this movie was. No story. Just lots of grunting. I’m glad I didn’t pay to see this. Cinematography was only good thing.
