They took their time in setting up the world and they explained very well

The screenplay expects a lot from the viewer, the pacing feels a little off, and Timothee Chalamet doesn’t have the emotional depth this role requires, but this movie is a technical marvel. The cinematography, score, and design of production and costume is outstanding. Rebecca Ferguson is the heart of this movie and everyone else gives solid performances, Jason Momoa was a pleasant stand out!

As someone who knows nothing about Dune. I thought it was very entertaining, the cinematography was beautiful. You could tell that they were trying to provide context for the rest of the movies on the series and still keep you intrigued.
