This movie carries out the normal signature trademark of M. Night Shyamalan. He makes a movie that gives the appearance of a horror movie, but really gets psychological and can be considered a thriller or other genre. It had a lot of funny aspects and could even be considered a HorCom (horror/comedy). The saving grace of the film is the performances. The actors playing the grandparents gave a plausible creepy factor and the two kids gave good performances. The young boy was amusing throughout, even at times when he was playing scared. This is like most to me, good for a matinee price or a rental later.

Great story concept and good acting, especially from the kids. The lack of soundtrack left the audience unsure about how to feel about scenes. Most frightening scene were simply laughed at by the audience. But that was my reaction too.

Not really a movie for adults. Target audience is teenagers 12 to 16. Thank you for the chance to see it.
