Very compelling. Great mixture of action and emotion. I think at the actors did a great job. Especially the newcomer that played Ricky. I've never seen him in anything before and I thought he did an excellent job. Matthew McConaughey was a great match up with him

I wasn't sure if I was supposed to feel sorry for the young drug dealer or be angry about the corrupt police. The whole movie was so far removed from my world that it's hard to believe people really live(d) like this.A few things could have been better explained, like how Jr got hooked into helping the police the second time and how he got caught the second time. That part of the plot moved too fast.Overall, though. I liked movie. I would recommend it.

Eye opening... prisoners left in prison long after they probably should have been released. What sad desperation in Detroit
