Too much violence. Weak plot.

I really wanted to adore this movie. And while there are some scenes I adore such as the scene where the Vikings prepare for battle with a ritual in the very beginning, the rest of the movie never felt quite in step with the strong beginning of the film. There’s a lot to like such as the visuals and violence, but otherwise, a bit of a mixed bag.

Lacked something. A bit cheesy. The acting was meh at times. The star studded cast couldn’t save it unfortunately. Story has been done several times.

Promised one thing and delivered something else. A violent movie and a good-looking movie populated by unlikable characters. This movie makes The 300 and Conan the Barbarian look like The Godfather by comparison. There were groans and boos at the end of the screening and I have not experienced anything like that since the screening of the new Blair Witch Project.\rI had such high hopes for this film and it was a letdown.\rThe only positive was that Nicole Kidman was really good as the queen.
