I’m very torn on what to say about this film. It is very dark and disturbing. It’s obviously a social commentary on the mental illness situation going on right now in America. Joaquin Phoenix’s performance was mesmerizing.

This movie is dark and emotional. It slowly builds into a big pay off that we knew was coming due to the history of the character. Phoenix absolutely nails the Joker and will be remembered for this role for eternity. Phoenix is also the only memorable character in the movie. Everyone else was pretty forgettable. The movie has humorous moments but also very dark moments. It’s a wild contrast.

Very dark and sad film. I feel bad about the treatment that mentally ill people have to endure. Hope that we all be kind to them. It's moving as well.

One of the most nihilistic films I’ve ever seen done very well with an amazing performance by Joaquin Phoenix but a vision of society that I don’t believe ever has and hope will never exist.
