Having read the book 55 years ago, I had to adjust from a linear storyline to a flashback style, but once I did, I found it true to the author's vision and the period. The only criticism I have was the forced feel of all the girls gathering around Marmee's skirts. The casting was spot on, the sets and locations as well. I enjoyed the film very much, and have recommended it to everywoman I know, and everyone with a daughter, and will probably accompany one af my friends with a tween daughter.

Great adaptation to the novel most of us 40 year olds read over the summer before our freshman year of high school.

I liked it a lot, it was very similar to the 1994 Little Women movie that I grew up loving. I was a bit confused at first when it started out in the middle of the story, but realized soon after that the beginning was being told through flashbacks. I wish a younger actress had been cast for “young Amy.”
