Jupiter Ascending is visual stunning, but it lacks clear direction. There are many sinister characters, but no real arch-villain. The main protagonists are chased from one peril to the next while the audience is left to blindly guess the real point to the adventure. The important backstory could have been established earlier in the movie to help viewers develop their feelings for the characters.

This is one movie that will not enter the pantheon of either "great" or "cult" science fiction movies. The plot is juvenile; the effects are lame; and the acting not much better. The 3-D was a waste of money. Perhaps the saddest part of this film is Eddie Remayne's painful accent.

Poor 3D graphics. Confusing plot line other than the questions that the "human from Earth" asked during the movie. It's a good "Redbox" movie.
