I enjoyed the story. It was fun to see some of the Fifth Element species. I liked both leading characters. What I liked about the male character is that he wasn't super-human or had amazing powers, he was just a guy doing his job. I liked that the female lead was a strong woman who didn't cry or fall apart when things started going wrong. She did have an attitude, but I thought that was funny.

The most important thing I loved about this movie was the uniform designs for ranking officers. They gave me the retro feeling of soldier uniform designs of 1970s comics and anime. Most futuristic space sci-fi movies today use simplistic and minimalist uniform designs, which is the norm of design today. I was really glad to see they didn't mess up with the uniform designs of 70s in this movie, because I wanted to see that old futuristic feeling in this movie since it is based on the original comics. They really did a splendid job on uniforms and environment designs, as well as computer UIs and interactions. Full of retro feelings! However, story had some tiny holes. Perhaps they will include supplementary scenes on extended cut release for box in the future. I deducted 1 star because of storytelling issues. Otherwise, it was a fun movie to watch. It's something I would watch once a year at most.

Fun movie! Like a cross between Fifth Element, Blade Runner, and the Abyss. We were fortunate enough to see our screening in 3D format. It was an enjoyable blend of funny, serious, action, sadness with a llittle back-stabbing by the commander thrown in to get your blood boiling

I enjoyed the graphics, special effects and the storyline. It seems the target audience might be from 9 up. The young appearance of the overall cast was not totally believable for the responsibilities and roles required. Overall it was a fun film, filled with action, and heartfelt emotion for not only each other, but a life form that strived to survive.
