The movie was interesting in it's history. The movie was beautiful in it's imagery. However, it was long and drawn out and incredibly dull. It took great patience for me to sit there for almost three hours.

I struggled with this film because in terms of magnitude and aesthetics it was great but the script was long and overly-drawn out to the point where a good 40 min could've been cut and a leaner movie would've been more powerful. I just expected different and left slight disappointed.

It seemed slow during the middle of the film but I enjoyed the beginning and the end. Knowing the story was historically accurate, I was quite shocked and sickened at the treatment of the Japanese people by the Inquisitor.

I really wanted to like this movie but alas I didn't. First, at almost 3 hours, it was at least an hour to long. There was also a dubbing issue with the version previewed and I am not sure if that will be corrected when shown later. It was difficult to follow and I feel left many questions unanswered about some of the characters.
