I thought the movie was beautiful- beautiful cinematography and well crafted. Even though the subject matter/context was heavy, we really liked that the substance of the movie was about the well-balanced discussion with different viewpoints (it reminded me of 12 Angry Men in that sense). I thought it was really thought provoking without being overly didactic. We really liked and appreciated the perspective and discussion on men and how these behaviors emerge-the point about men being victims also was a poignant moment. I’d absolutely recommend it to both men and women (vs women only).

We loved the movie! The cinematography was stunning: almost everything takes place in this one space but still with a great opening on the horizon and the nature and the elements (such as the wind) are omnipresent. Everything rests on the compelling story and the amazing actor's performances. We don't see the time go by as we are mesmerized by the story unfolding in this isolated world and knowing that it's based on a true story makes it even stronger.

The acting is fantastic and very moving. Polley's screenplay is complex, thoughtful, and intelligent.
