I am not a fan of Kathryn Bigelow's work but the story was good and parallels what unfortunately too many people in this day and age encounter with police brutality. It's as relevant 50 years ago as it is today.

While this movie is really well made, it is too long. The story dragged and needed some editing. It is a gritty and dark movie about racism and frustration. I was not alive during this time and it is hard to comprehend why people do what they do. I feel like it was another movie that inspires hate and divisiveness.

The film's topic is important and the story needs to be told. The movie was really drawn out and making it 30 min shorter would have kept it from dragging.

I give this movie 3 stars because of its "untold history". The commercials promoting made it seem like it was going to give some great insight to the rioting and looting yet the storyline they followed had nothing to do with the riots. It definitely started out too slow. The build up to the kids being murdered was too slow and then it ended too slow. Thanks for the untold story of the Dramatics!
