I was concerned it was going to be by-the-numbers and cliche but it turned out to be a really good film that didn't take any easy ways out.

I thought it was really well done. I haven't read the book, but I like how the story is set as high schoolers, but you don't get the typical high school story. The story holds it own without having the stereotypical story lines of homecoming, prom and graduation. As someone who lost a couple friends in high school to accidents, it really expressed what it was like for the survivors from those situations in a thoughtful and honest way.

This was a great movie to watch with my teenage daughter who is a senior she enjoyed it and it was informative of on the way teenage brains work and the daily struggle they have as well as informing them that us parents too have been in their shoes and we understand what they are going through. I was also great to see how caring and gentle the buy was in allowing the girl to heal and not asking her to give up her old life but to help her close that chapter to be able to move forward. I thought it was great and so did my daughter the only thing is that it needed more like what happens to them?!

A thoughtful look at how we deal with loss and heartbreak, in youth, but applying as easily to those of us beyond college age. Their personal journeys were engaging lessons in the trials of love.
