It was an excellent drama - definitely worth seeing in IMAX 3D.

I had read Jon Krakauer's book "Into Thin Air" several years ago about his account of the events in this movie. Even though I knew what was going to happen, I still found the movie to be gripping, compelling and emotionally moving. Seeing it in IMAX was amazing. I also liked seeing the "updates" to the people involved posted at the end.

Knowing it was based on a true story really moves you from the beginning. I enjoyed the journey and the special fx enveloped you. That being said, the accents and loud noises made it hard to hear half of the dialog. Secondly, even though the outfits were different colors, sometimes it was difficult to know who was who. Especially when someone died. Otherwise, enjoyable and frightening movie.

First thing I would say about this film is oh my gosh the risk and the challenges that some people take for an accomplishment are crazy. This movie was very intense and somewhat predictable but going through the journey of what these climbers go through to reach the summit is unbelievable. The thought of risking life and limb to achieve a challenging goal is crazy. Must see!
