Emma Thompson never disappoints. The story line is much like The Devil Wears Prada. Mature, perfectionist boss, pitted against young enthusiastic, naive beginner. There are some good funny bits that made us lol. Overall, a fair movie but maybe not worth the price of a theatre ticket. Might be better to catch it, in the future, on a streaming service.

It was a fun, forgettable summer film. I think the writer had some BIG THOUGHTS on women in the workplace, but it was very predictable. There were some great laughs, but overall it dragged a bit from the plot.

Although not entirely consistent, this witty movie had some genuine belly laughs. Mindy Kalling, Emma Thompson and John Lithgow are the powerhouse actors who lead thos movie. It's the natural chemistry betqeen these three main characters that really sells the movie. The film deals with themes such as the lack of diversity in comedy writers rooms, workplace relationships, and the challenges of a rapidly changing workplace landscape. Most of these themes are handled adeptly. On the downside, it felt as of this movie had several subplots that were undedeveloped.

Emma Thompson and John Lithgow do great in their roles, but everyone else is just ok. The plot is predictable but that’s ok. Many in this genre are predictable. Late Night has some genuinely funny moments, as well as some heartwarming moments, but overall I expected more.
