Good film but nothing extraordinary

A bit plodding, too expository. I didn't really develop any sympathy for any of the characters. I like this kind of motorcycle club history, but I could have gotten the same information from a well written magazine article. Johnny seems complex but just when you want to learn more about him , he does something crazy to lose that sympathy,

It lacks a strong plot necessary to make for a good story. I suppose it stays true to the photographer's book about the club, mostly capturing how the club changes over time, but we need more to be invested in the characters and the story. "Founder wants younger guy he respects to take over club and younger guy resists doing so" and "GF/wife wants BF/husband to commit to her instead of biker club and he resists doing so" just isn't enough for a satisfying story.
