I had no idea I'd fall in love with a sentient rock that looks like a raw chicken! Seriously though, this scratched my itch as someone who loves fellow Andy Weir adaptation The Martian and thinks Ryan Gosling deserved a better space movie than First Man. Similar to The Martian, I appreciated PHM for its sentimentality, hope, and generally showing the cool things that can happen when someone who's really good at their job has to solve a huge problem. It was also nice to look at, and anytime Sandra Huller does karaoke in a movie is a win for me.

Heartfelt buddy comedy/sci-fi/drama with plenty of suspense and cooperative moments.

Good adaptation! Faithful and fun. Book was better though.

Definitely enjoyed it! Ryan Gosling was the perfect Grace. I’ve already recommended others to see it.
