Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets was visually stunning. It was a great summer SciFi and had seamless CGI effects and gorgeous character deisgns. Costumes were fantastic. The opening sequence was fantastically done. The pearls were realistic and not blocky like a lot of CGI characters can be. The plot was interesting and easy to follow. The twist at the end could be slightly predictable, but was very entertaining. The progression of events was interestingly edited and had 5th Element transitions and vibes that were apparent. The plot could be cheesy at points, and it was hard to note that Valerian and Lorelei were in a relationship at first. All in all, I think it was a great movie with fantastic character design and effects. Rhianna's transitions were beautifully done. I was able to see it in 3D and it gave it a lot of depth that might have been lost in a 2D screening. I'm going back to watch it again because it is a must see. This genre and movie tends to be most successful as a cult classic, which I'm guessing it will become. Cheers!
