Awesome movie and true to history. So much information, yet detailed in the short time span. It was a reminder of what unity of people with God can change people, their lives, and history.

Important. Poignant. Well executed. "We have come too far to turn back now" - Feeling grateful that this movie and movement happened.

Movies have a unique ability to convey the personal and emotional impacts of events far removed from us. Selma uses this ability to bring the events of March 1965 to heart-stopping life, and the cast plays off every nuance so well. As the director did not shy away from showing the brutalities of the events, this is not an easy watch, but it is a powerful and worthwhile one.
