A quirky, over the top performance by Johnny Depp with an uneven script. This was funny and watchable but Depp was so over the top he was not always identifiable (e.g., waits quite a while to save his manservant from losing a finger in his place). Gwen Paltrow's Lady Mordecai is clever but we were never sure why she got involved in the mystery solving. We very much enjoyed Paul Bettany as Jock.

Fun graphics as the story moved from country to country. Movie felt like a Pink Panther wannabe. A few laugh out loud slap stick moments and Depp's character is fun and quirky, however the overall the movie is ok at best.

Funny but not rolling in the aisle funny. Johnny Depp seems to always play some sort of strange character and he does well as usual. I can't say that I would run around telling all my friends to see this one.

it was ok if you like this type of humor. is this going to be like a new type of pink panther type thing... are we to expect mortdecai 2? my friend LOVED it. i'm sure my husband would to. so for this TYPE of movie i give it 3.5 stars
