The movie is brutal and hard to watch. Too violent for my current taste. That being said it's a well filmed well acted movie. Generally the cast is excellent but the standouts for me are David Jonsson and Garett Wareing.

It is good, but graphic and sad

I read the source material for the first time almost 25 years ago, so it goes without saying that I've been looking forward to this adaptation for a long time. The movie started very strong. The tone was right. The characterization was mostly accurate. The few minor changes made sense from a storytelling and budgetary standpoint. The introduction of the main character's motivation that was created for the movie was a bad call, though. That coupled with the unnecessary changes made to the ending completely destroyed the good will that had built up over the course of the film.

It is decent movie that is hard carried by David Jonsson. His performance was spectacular while the rest were decent.Changing the ending to King's source material was interesting, but I do not think it was executed well in the end. Peter should have stuck to his guns instead of going back on his motivation. Professor Sullivan did a great job introing the movie and facilitating discussion after, but this is just a forgettable film. Mark Hamill was a fun riff on buzzword world leader villains. But seriously: cast David Jonsson in everything. Also, I know you own SAW. WHERE IS SAW 11
