To me, this is one of the greatest films that I have seen in years and I see movies every week. While the concept of movie about a dying person is not new, this film shakes it up like a snow-globe and when all of it settles, you have a fresh take like nothing that I have seen. It will be a sin if this movie does not get nominated for Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, and other Oscar nods.

A smart and funny film with an outstanding cast

Loving someone is not about you; it is about them. This film hits on so many important themes: male-female friendship uncomplicated by sex and control; interracial friendship that has nothing to do with race; love and compassion; seeing yourself as seen by others who actually like you and not just as others who disdain you see you; a teacher who is a real teacher with a heart and soul; confronting mortality and respecting an individual who knows life is about to end. If you want substance, this film is for you and, oh yes, it comes with some sappy lessons.
