The first fifteen minutes or so of the film feels more like you are watching a play rather than a film with all the heavy dialogue, but ithe story gradually evolves into a very touching family drama with excellent performances by all the actors in this cast, in particular, Viola Davis, who undoubtedly witll be nominated for a Golden Globe /Oscar award for her outstanding performance this film.

Great movie, great acting, great directing. This movie really brought August Wilson's work to life.

Viola Davis is absolutely incredible! The character development pulls you in despite the length of the film.
