The movie starts in such a way that even if the viewer had yet to see either of the conjuring movies, they could still enjoy this one as a stand alone movie. I wouldn’t say that it was terrifying however I’m sure my heart stopped a few times when I was startled! By the end of the movie I had to ask my boyfriend if his hand was okay from me squeezing it.

I would recommend people see the movie, not necessarily for the scare but for the bits of humor and jumps.

A lighter version than the other conjuring films, much giving in to more drama than horror moments. Taissa Farmiga is sincere and convincing. Multiple funny lines and gestures lower the seriousness of the film. The NUN herself isn't as scary as she was in the previous films of the conjuring series. The setup is good. Sound effects could have been much better. Sounds hardly helped add to the fear.
