It is a long long movie, it should have been developed in half the time, it does have beautiful fotography and good (but exagerated) acting.The theme is interesting but not that special either.I did not really liked it much. I did not enjoy the film! I felt it was Racist both Anti Japanese and Anti Christian I believe Martin Scorsesi was one sided in his account of Japanese history and Culture and misrepresented the Christian teachings and mussionary work

I am unsure why two missionaries feeling complied to recover a priest, leaving fully unable to communicate & unaware of culture diversity. The adventure was not interesting, nor dialog with oneself

Although it has beautiful cinematography, it is WAY WAY too long! Torturing was painful to watch and I don't see why we were put through so much of it. Scorcese has gotten lost on this one.
