The film had some gorgeous cinematography and unique visual flourishes. But aside from a sometimes unique visual experience the story left me feeling underwhelmed.

It was typically violent for the type of genre. If you like Viking stories, I would recommend it. I was a little confusing to see the main character go from about the age of 12 to 30 while the other characters didn't seem to age. I assume that a part 2 is in the works to give insight into the rest of the family's tale.

OK movie. Slow in the middle. The accents of the actors was indecipherable at times.

The Northman had strong beats with it's visceral action and unique plot twist, but it's rituals we're weird and a letdown for me.
