I enjoyed it. At first I thought- “oh no, this is so theatre-y,” but I quickly fell into the conversational world that was created. And I actually think, in the end, the theatre-esque style of the writing and staging helped tell the story. Any hesitations I felt ended up coming full circle into more meaningful moments. Nice work of the filmmaker for gaining that trust. Will recommend.

Fantastic portrayal of the 4 icons. Entertaining, and Sam’s last song sealed the deal!

I loved the movie but I had a couple of issues. The movie started slow but don't give up on it. You will be rewarded for your patience. I was also disappointed with the lack of character development. Unlike me (an old man), there's a population of people who are not well versed in the gentlemen's legendary backgrounds. All I can say is that those young pups can research later. This movie is a must-see. The cinematography is expertly conceived. You feel the inequality of the era. You don't feel the level of power and influence in the room. Great what-if concept! Who's Next!!!!

This movie is great. Oscar worthy. The movie would be great at any time, but it is especially relevant and poignant because of the state of the United States. It shows how blacks, in this case famous black men, navigate life in response to racism and white supremacy. It’s an inside look into the conversations many blacks have amongst ourselves and the importance of community, sisterhood and brotherhood. Because the majority of the movie takes place in the hotel room, it could drag, but Regina King’s experience as an actor is what I believe makes it compelling. Great storytelling!
