The Martian is great Science Fiction entertainment. It shows space travel in more near-term future context and does not push the technology limits beyond our current reach. The movie is a very good mix of drama and comedy. Matt Damon, who carries much of the story, does great as astronaut Mark Watney. The movie keeps the audience very much engaged till the very end.
