One of my biggest concerns when watching these large-scale monster movies is the possibility of an imbalance between focus on the monsters and an ability to care for the narrative; I'm happy to say that this film strikes that balance from the get-go and doesn't disappoint on either pillar. I was fully engaged throughout, and I was happy to be along for the ride.

on par with the previous Kong and Godzilla movies

Firstly THANK YOU SO MUCH for giving me the chance to watch this movie.\r\rAs a Kaiju fan this movie was great. Great action scenes... And thankfully less dull bits in between.\r\rAgain a few plot points that seemed to be unexplained.. such as the Hollow Earth Kong temple... which I hope can be answered in future films (please let the monsterverse continue!).

I got to see a giant ape and a giant lizard beat the tar out of each other. And then, they joined a spit swapping make-out tag-team match against the coolest twist of the century. My inner 12 year old was screaming the entire time.
