This movie is extremely relevant to today's social and racial inequalities. It is a very poignant and captivating inside view of what it feels like to have to live in two different social climates. One of the best depictions of the complicated lives of African Americans that I have ever seen. So many times I found myself thinking...yes...that's how I feel. It spoke to the hardships that many AA's endure....and how they endure it. It was warm, funny, disturbing, and suspenseful. This is the film Spike Lee wishes he could make. This film was an absolute knockout.
