Excellent movie. Maybe sugar coats Maud' actual life a bit since in reality she had a really hard time, but well worth watching. I also had no idea that heart throb Ethan Hawke played her husband until the credits, he played the role of her husband so well.

This was a truly beautiful film that far exceeded my expectations. Sally Hawkins & Ethan Hawke were wonderful in their roles. I laughed, I cried, the audience applauded in appreciation at the end. One minor quibble is the characters didn't seem to age quite as much as the timeline suggested (made obvious by the inclusion of actual footage of elderly Maud and Everett Lewis at the very end). Bravo!
