Moonlight is an important film--indeed an excellent one. Gay black men are humanized in this coming of age story in a way that is unprecedented. The cast is stellar. The acting is superb. There are certain familiar stereotypes about black life in oppressed and depressed communities that must be noted. However, this movie is a magnificent original, and that is no small accomplishment.

The acting was beyond superb & I enjoyed the story in spite of the fact that the ending didn't give me complete resolution. However it definitely was a conversation starter.

A unique vision as being black and LGBT in an urban environment is rarely shown on screen. Beautiful cinematography and great acting.
