Some suspenseful parts and entertaining but a little long. For instance, too much screen time was spent on the young Jewish girl that had the bad experience with the German soldiers. Okay, we get it ... it was horrible but feels like the director spent too much time "milking" the trauma/after effects she was experiencing and after a while it didn't feel like it was adding much value to the movie.

overbearing but otherwise a good story

Really decent movie, but is not deep enough, This is a World War II film, but still did not show much dark side of the war, and some Germany soliders are too nice...

The true story is certainly powerful, and the scenes with children are particularly heartbreaking. But overall, the narrative and the historical context here seem over-simplified, and the editing too predictive. That said, most of the audience seemed to like this approach, as many reacted with gasps or sobs at key moments in the story. For me, the film pales when compared to many historical dramas, including recent films "Lore" and "The Innocents."
