Superb performances. A great script which was innovative and original. Everyone will know how the housing crisis happened after watching this film. It dealt with a complicated subject and simplified it with a bit of humor. Great cameos too.

The celebrity explanations were a little patronizing, but if they had been good explanations, I wouldn't have minded. They didn't actually help. Steve Carell deserves and Oscar nomination. It was funny until a little after half way through when it just started seeming sad and making me sick to my stomach because we all lived through this crisis and it's hard to relive.

The Big Short makes you laugh and upset depending on what condition you were in (financially) at the time this movie took place circa 2005-2008. It was very well acted though and made you think.

The writer takes a very complex subject and makes it understandable with clever explanations resulting in some well placed humor and horror.
