'The Shape of Water' is a modern monster tale befitting of a classic creature feature. The film captures an era in a quirky way seen not too often. It displays an original love story that most would only dream. As in all great horror, underneath it is a commentary on society.

A beautiful movie

Del Toro creates movie magic through stunning cinematography, stellar acting and a poignant story. In this story, difference, otherness and our predjudices abound in this early 60s environment but somehow are timeless. Jenkins and Hawkins are transcendent!

This movie was fantastic. It's was like watching an adult fairy tale. Richard Jenkins and Michael Shannon were amazing as usual, but the lead actress was incredible as well. I thought the movie had a great mix of humor, suspense, and the love story.
