Movie was wayyy too slow. A few times I was considering walking out but the suspense of how it was gonna end kept me staying. All in all, a happy ending. :)

The music was great, but the story line quite dull.

The whole tone was unconvincing. The main character tried to come across as a struggling, misunderstood artist who had insurmountable obstacles to overcome. Her mother was flaky, sure, but the solid support and love from her grandmother and best friend more than make up for any lack from the mother. She caved under the first sign of rejection from a producer and it seems like forced angst.
