It was simply beautiful. I loved the scenery and the acting was superb.

So beautiful-the costumes, scenery, acting, etc. Judi Dench did a superb job in her role as Queen Victoria. Authentically played, although a bit melodramatic, but who cares? Ali Fazal was impressive as Abdul. Loved this movie, as it has it all, including humor and emotionalism. A refreshing diversion from car chases and explosions!

We really enjoyed this film. The little known relationship between Queen Victoria and Abdul Karim made for a charming, funny and bittersweet film. The performance by Dame Judy Dench was fantastic as usual--played with humor and heartbreak at various times. The supporting cast --Eddie Izzard as the future King Edward VII was the perfect villain. While this movie isn't the most profound film ever made, it's a great film to spend a few hours with this Fall.
