It was entertaining. I liked the fun twist on an old familiar story. Pacing was good, acting was good. Did not see the twist coming about the dad not really being the one to give the book. I kind of like that the single mom was revealed as the unsung hero.

Pretty fun entertainment for kids in a narrow age band. Probably no older than 14 and no younger than 10. By the time you're fifteen you probably have a condescending view of a twelve-year-old and if you're much younger than 10 all the fire breathing scary stuff might be overwhelming. this movie does not have the entertainment value for adults like maybe Shrek, no inside adult jokes.

Our family really enjoyed this movie! There was a perfect blend of humor and action.
