High on action and palace intrigue, Gladiator II hits most of the right notes. Gritty and violent, the film doesn't require a recent watch of the original film, but may have helped this filmgoer. Sound and special effects make this a must-see on the big screen. Well-paced and relatively unpredictable.

Great movie. Easy to catch on even if you did not see the first Gladiator

The movie was extremely graffic with it's violence, but so was the first one. It lagged a bit in the middle but had a nice finish. It was great to see Connie Nielsen reprise her role again and to watch Denzel Washington be a bad guy, awesome.

It was a bit over the top and gory. The flashbacks and references to the original movies were helpful and well done.
