I wanted to care about this family but I felt indifferent especially with all the others left to perish without explanation. I couldn't suspend my disbelief that this average untrained man would be able to move in and out of mobs of terrified people so easily and access critical information and location by happenstance. Same for the wife. It wasn't plausible that plastic wristbands would be identifiers. Some of the violent scenes didn't flow from what preceded them and afterward. Most implausible would be any cell phone service with mobs, searing asteroid pieces incinerating entire regions and more. I didn't quite comprehend the motivation to stay alive if 75% of life on earth were incinerated and land, waters, air and whatnot were unstable and hazardous. What good is a structural engineer's knowledge when the tools of his trade no longer exist over other skills? Still maybe gamers will enjoy it more.
