Very good character study and interesting approach to a well worn theme.

The cast is impressive. While Butler may be typecast in period roles, his charisma as Benny is compelling. Comer perfectly portrays a Midwestern girl who endures risks and danger to protect her loved one, believing she can fix him. Lastly, Hardy's portrayal of Johnny is mind-blowing. He combines a frightening presence, capable of killing without hesitation, with a sense of respect and reliability that everyone depends on.

Very fun movie to watch, though the ending was disappointing.
