The acting was fantastic and the imagery was fun. Enjoyed the setting not being generic earth. The storyline was weak and the actions seen were bland. I didn’t feel like I was watching fighting scenes with a super powerful creature and the fighting scenes were also cliche. The storyline felt under developed.

There was some adult themes, especially the overall plot of the movie. But it was subtly put in the movie so I don’t think the kids actually picked up what was happening. Would definitely recommend.

Two stars for Milly Aycock’s distinctive and very watchable take on the titular hero, and one star for some spectacular action set pieces. Otherwise, if the Snyder era of DC Comics movies was sour and dark, the Gunn era is just plan weird, and I hope Warner’s new owners hit the reset button soon. Though there are two female protagonists, this film couldn’t pass the Bechdel test even in this moment of female empowerment: “What’s your cousin’s name?” “Superman.” “Is he a lot older than you?” “About 10 years.” “So why is he a man and you’re a girl?”

It was a fun popcorn movie. Nothing too deep. Wish it had stayed a little closer to the source material but not a deal breaker.
