They managed to layer so many themes and heavy topics onto one another while still portraying so many moments of joy and laughter! loved it so much!

The best version

The casting was fantastic - I wouldn't replace a single one of these actors. I've never seen the original film or read the play, so I can say that even with this not being the original, I feel like this one did a fantastic job of living up to the hype of The Color Purple. I had chills the entire time not only was the movie so powerful, but also because it was so exciting and empowering in many of its moments!! Can't wait for everyone to see this!

Such a beautiful rendition of the musical. Danielle Brooks & Fantasia acted so well in the film!
